Amy Lou Adams is an American actress whom has received praise for her portrayals of sweet and innocent characters. Adams was born and lived in Castle Rock Colorado, as the youngest of seven children. Her father served in U.S. service in Italy. The actress began acting and dancing professionally in the mid-1990s with Boulder Dinner Theatre, and then at the Country Dinner Playhouse. After moving to Minnesota, she starred in a mock-documentary film called Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998) concerning beauty pageant contests. When she made her screen debut as a cute but serious contestant, she relocated into Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Her husband was the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 from September 1962 to June 1951 and the mother of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh's film career began following the signing of an MGM contract in the mid-1940s. The actress was discovered by actress Norma Shearer. Leigh appeared in a variety of popular films in the next decade, such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) and Living It Up (a Martin and Lewis-film that was released in 1954).
