Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12 November 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej or now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. First gymnast in history to achieve a score of 10 in competing in the Olympics. Bela Karolyi later Romanian Gymnastics Coach discovered Comaneci at just seven years old. The first time she competed at the national junior championships of 1969 placing 13th and she took the title in 1970. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she won three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974, she was an overall junior champion. In her very first competition at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals, as well being awarded a silver. She was the first female ever to perform a backwards double salto after dismounting from an unbalanced parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment business as a performer as figure skater. With her sister Nina Wayne she was part of a traveling show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a US citizen born September 6 1942, in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her career in the entertainment business in her teens. At the age of a girl she started her career as a figure skating performer with Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. The show featured stage-moving ice-skating performances.
